Located on a premier championship golf course, Sunnybrook Country Club in Grandville is a versatile and elegant choice for couples searching for that perfect reception and ceremony spot.

“We really focus on the one stop shop for our weddings so that we can take care of everything for people — from the ceremony and reception to the food and beverages,” says Leanne Stoll, the marketing director at RedWater Events, the hospitality group that runs Sunnybrook. “We really try to make it easy for all of our couples that come into the venue.”

With multiple venue options dependent on your event’s size, Sunnybrook is all about customizing the day to suit the couple.  The grand ballroom, which can fit up to 350 guests, can also be tailored for smaller receptions as well. Floor to ceiling windows provide gorgeous natural light and sweeping views of the landscape — a stunning sight, no matter the season. The vistas are also a picturesque background for the head table. “A lot of our head tables go along those windows,” says RedWater Events sales director, Vanessa Snelgrove-Gould. “They just have a really beautiful backdrop for a lot of their photos.” Linens, cutlery, china, tables, and chairs are also all provided for ease. A private outdoor patio with cocktail tables and market lighting can also be booked for summer weddings.

Also outdoors, a dedicated ceremony site upon the lush green lawn awaits guests with chairs and a wooden arbor beneath a large tree — all overlooking the back nine of the golf course. “It’s very pretty,” says Snelgrove-Gould. “And it’s a really easy walk to the reception space from there, which makes it very convenient.”

The menu is also one of the major stars at Sunnybrook. “We have an executive chef that, at all of our properties, makes our food top notch,” Stoll says. “You’re not getting standard banquet food. You’re getting really well-prepared [meals].” Recently, RedWater launched Bundt cakes, donuts, and even a Pina Colada cupcake — just a delicious sampling of the desserts that could be on your wedding menu thanks to their dedicated pastry chef.

“And what’s really nice,” adds Snelgrove-Gould, “is that, because there’s quite a few things that are done in-house, we’re able to say yes to so many requests. If there’s a menu or flavor profile that you’re trying to get, we work with our chefs, and they make it happen. Allergens are very commonplace, too, and we navigate those, so we really are so fortunate to have that ability to say yes instead of being limited by a catering company.”

“The same goes for the beverage menu,” Stoll says. “Our teams are constantly figuring out feature cocktails for the couples and getting creative with that, too.”

Brides and, especially, grooms, take note – there’s also a golf simulator. “That is a perfect room for the gentlemen to get ready in,” Snelgrove-Gould says. “They can play some golf. They can get some food. They can get dressed. And it’s a big enough space that it can hold 15 to 20 guys comfortably in there. It can always be a little bit challenging to keep the groom and groomsmen entertained day-of, and that’s the perfect way to do it.”
