Dreamy Southern Styled Shoot at Atlanta’s Swan House

By Published On: June 25, 2024

When we first laid eyes on these images by Grand Rapids-based Lindsay Elaine Photography from a recent The Editorial Experiences workshop in Atlanta, it was an instant swoon. Every detail is perfection, from the stunning venue to the lush florals, and we had to know more. Here, we talk to photographer Lindsay Long about her experience behind the camera at this dreamy Southern styled shoot.

What is The Editorial Experiences, and had you participated in a workshop like this before?

The Editorial Experiences is a luxury workshop and curated editorial (styled shoot) experience for wedding professionals. It helps wedding professionals elevate their portfolio while learning alongside some of the best in the industry. There is hands-on mentoring, interactive education, and multiple luxury-styled editorials. This was my first ever workshop of this capacity. I have attended styled shoots locally in Michigan (my home base), but never outside of the state, and none of them had the education or hands-on learning piece that The Editorial Experiences offered.

What did you enjoy most about taking part in this workshop?

I really enjoyed meeting and networking with other creatives in the industry that I most likely would have never met (or even heard of) — but also the jaw-dropping editorials were my obvious favorite! And the location — The Swan House is absolutely gorgeous!

What were some of your favorite elements to photograph?

I loved the details of the tablescapes and the architecture of The Swan House. Every detail was thought out to a T.

What’s your biggest takeaway from the workshop?

I really loved challenging myself to photograph things differently, whether that was the couple, the tablescape, details of the venue, etc. and not doing my typical, go-to shots. It was also nice to slow down and really think through every photo I was taking and being intentional about my craft. It gave me a fresh set of eyes going into my 2024 wedding season, and I’ll take everything I learned into my season.
