Something New: Let It Grow

By Published On: October 15, 2024

Looking for a sustainable — but beautiful — option for your wedding stationery? West Michigan stationery designer Kayleigh Dumond has created a line of eco-friendly invitations printed on seed paper that blooms into wildflowers when planted. Available in her Etsy shop alongside traditional stationery, Dumond’s seed paper offerings were inspired by a book she read in college, Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things by William McDonough and Michael Braungart. “It explained the concept of developing products that instead of going from ‘cradle to grave’ — a landfill — products could be made to either be biodegradable or reusable,” she says. “It really resonated with me.” With Dumond’s seed paper stationery, your wedding guests can plant their invitations after the big day and enjoy the flowers they yield for years to come.
