Planning and designing a wedding can be both complex and expensive — however, Amy and Doug Collins have launched Blue Sky Event Rentals to offer couples an affordable way to plan the weddings of their dreams. The duo combines decades of wedding planning and design experience with trendy and affordable rental products, all chosen with their couples in mind.

Amy and Doug are the couple behind The Collins Collective, a brand that encompasses Blue Sky Event Rentals, Blackbird Formal Wear, and two wedding venues: The Collins Off Main and The Collins Clocktower, both in Chelsea. Amy and Doug have built their businesses around the needs of their customers — Blue Sky was launched after they noticed their clients’ frustrations as they hunted for affordable wedding rental items.

“We want to be the cutting edge for everything fun, hip, and exciting,” Amy says. “But we noticed that the cost for trendy rentals in this market was astronomical. We started offering our couples select items for rent at affordable rates, and that’s how Blue Sky began.”

Blue Sky offers a wide range of products — including tableware, tables, chairs, ceiling installations, accent lighting, and other decor — all chosen with an exacting eye for design, price, and ease of use. When finding the perfect product poses a challenge, Blue Sky will even make them in-house. Their La Brea Ink Tables were handmade by Doug and include mix-and-match table legs to suit any design.

In addition to their rentals, Blue Sky also offers in-house wedding design services, utilizing Amy’s decades of experience as an event designer. Across all their brands, The Collins Collective offers couples a white-glove customer experience.

“Nothing is impossible,” Doug says. “We want to be the company that is a breath of fresh air to work with because we’ll go the extra mile for our couples.”
