With three indoor venue spaces — the Pavilion, Clubhouse, and enclosed Gazebo — as well as an outdoor space for ceremonies, receptions, and even cocktail hour (think yard games!), the options are plentiful at Thornapple. “Our team will hold multiple meetings with the couple to get an understanding of their wedding dreams to help bring their vision to life,” Stoll says.

The Pavilion, Thornapple’s dedicated private event space, offers 4,500 square feet of space for up to 250 guests. With cobblestone flooring, metal roofing, string lighting, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer vistas of the landscape, the space is “perfect for those who appreciate modern design,” Stoll says. There’s also a built-in bar, and it’s located close to the outdoor ceremony space. “The convenient location behind the reception venue is sure to please your guests and ease your planning,” Stoll says.

With space to host up to 120 guests, the Clubhouse is great for smaller receptions and events. Recently remodeled, the Clubhouse underwent a dramatic renovation which included all new flooring and windows, all pillars removed, all surfaces replaced, and fresh paint for a modern look. The new, large windows not only lend the open space brilliant natural light but offer gorgeous views of the golf course outside. “This space is also great for rehearsal dinners and can even tie in golf since this is a public course,” Stoll says.

Brides rejoice! In 2023, Thornapple added a gorgeous new dressing suite located directly between the Clubhouse and Pavilion. “Our newly redesigned bridal suite is a spacious and modern area with vanities, mirrors, and a cozy seating lounge,” Stoll says. “Drinks and lunch can also be ordered for the wedding party.”

And like all RedWater Event venues, the food and beverage at Thornapple is top notch. “The event menu is created by RedWater’s team of Executive Chefs to provide a great selection of dishes for every palate,” Stoll says. “You can enjoy buffet or plated options. Our food is fresh and innovative with a focus on quality and consistency. We take a contemporary approach to traditional cuisine.” Some new options include street corn dip, bacon burnt ends on cheddar grits, and Asian chicken soup dumplings, all served by a dedicated, professional staff. “We have an experienced event staff that makes the planning process as easy as possible for you.
