Find Your Magic Moment at Becker’s Bridal

By Published On: June 20, 2024

As one of the nation’s oldest bridal salons, Becker’s Bridal is proud of its legacy of small-town service and its selection of thousands of bridal gowns. Becker’s has been selling wedding dresses since 1934 when second generation Eva Becker sold the first gown to a local customer — and word spread like wildfire. Becker’s is now on its fourth and fifth generation of ownership with the mother-daughter team of Shelley and Alyssa, and the store proudly displays that first gown in its flagship location in Fowler, Mich. Over the last 90 years, Becker’s has only become more committed to offering a superior customer experience to brides across Michigan and beyond.

“Because Becker’s Bridal is so deeply rooted in its family legacy, it’s very important that we treat brides as family when they come into the store,” says Brand Manager Cayla Johnson. “Oftentimes brides are shopping with moms, relatives, or friends who also got their dress at Becker’s. We’re honored that people continue to make the store part of their own legacy.”

The Becker’s flagship in Mid Michigan has expanded over the years and now features gowns from more than 30 designers, spanning a wide range of trends and styles to ensure you find the “one.” Becker’s also offers many unique experiences for brides and their families. In addition to the nearly 3,000 gowns in sizes 2-32, Becker’s offers an enhanced experience with expert stylists, 16 fitting rooms, two 360-degree mirrored rooms (including their famous Magic Room), a first-of-its-kind bridal celebration space called the Phoenix Lounge, and the LUXE Division, a new room for VIP appointments.

The Magic Room is one of the salon’s most well-known spaces, made famous by NY Times Best Selling book The Magic Room: A Story About the Love We Wish for Our Daughters by Jeffrey Zaslow. The book follows the journey of four brides and highlights the love shared between parents and their children as they prepare for their wedding. The 360-degree mirrored room was constructed in the most historic part of the building, in an old bank vault. The room has hosted thousands of brides as they experience the magic of seeing themselves in their wedding dress for the first time.

“The first bride who walked in was wowed,” Cayla says. “She said it felt so magical and helped us coin the name. With so many brides and their shared energy in the Magic Room, it’s become a very special place.”

One of the newer additions to the Becker’s Bridal experience is the new Phoenix Lounge, a space where brides can continue the celebration after saying yes to the dress. The space is decorated a la Alice in Wonderland, overflowing with florals and enchanting decor. They offer champagne toasts and a delicious menu exclusive for Becker’s brides. Becker’s has also added the LUXE Division, a VIP space for a completely private bridal dress shopping experience for brides seeking designer or couture gowns.

In addition to dresses, Becker’s offers bridal accessories, including veils, jewelry, headpieces, and even fun, personalized items like jean jackets. Becker’s also has a second location in Lansing that sells mother-of-the-bride and special occasion dresses, as well as nearly 1,000 wedding dress samples that can be purchased off the rack.

Becker’s Bridal is proud to have served more than 100,000 brides from Michigan and beyond. With their wide selection of dresses, unique experiences, and expert team, Becker’s Bridal will help you find the perfect dress for your dream wedding.
