Hearty Greetings helps couples create meaningful and made-to-last wedding stationery items using vintage letterpress printing equipment. Laura Beyer, the woman behind the art, has more than 20 years of printmaking experience and has had her work collected by colleges, universities, private collections, and the Detroit Institute of Arts. She brings all of this experience to couples looking to memorialize their wedding with full stationery suites, guest books, vow books, and additional day-of print items. “I love being able to spend my time in my studio and connect with individuals and families that want these special printed projects,” Beyer says. “Working in the wedding industry is perfect because of all the possibilities. The materials and techniques I use fully engage your senses with their beautiful textures — and they’re made to last.”

Hearty Greetings is unique because of the more than 100-year-old vintage printing equipment Beyer uses for all her creations. She is also outfitted with a large collection of historic type and graphics for use in the press. In addition to letterpress, Hearty Greetings also offers foil embellishing and die-cutting services.

“I entered this field with the lens of an artist,” Beyer says. “When I first encountered a letterpress shop, I was fascinated by all the drawers of type and the different materials used — and the endless opportunities they presented. Many of the papers I use are specifically designed for letterpress because they capture the sculptural nature of the process. I also use archival inks that won’t fade or get damaged by light. My products are made to last.”

Her online shop showcases many of her most popular designs, but Beyer also collaborates closely with couples or wedding planners to customize the look and feel for each event. She has created countless unique wedding stationery suites, from die-cut cards in the shape of Michigan’s lower peninsula to classic embossed invitations. She also creates menus, day-of signage, and in-house printed guest and vow books for keepsakes. Beyer also offers personalized gifts for couples beyond the wedding day — including a project with an individual’s poetry typeset into a heartfelt print for her husband.

“The historical process that I use, especially in our digital age, makes these products extra impactful,” Beyer says. “I have a passion for connecting this timeless process to a modern audience, as well as collaborating with people to make something really special. It’s very meaningful for me to do this work.”

As a working mother and a one-woman business, Laura has big plans for Hearty Greetings. For couples looking to book her services in the future, stay tuned for a new website and future business growth.
