Move Over White, Blue is Stepping in This Bridal Season
By Daniella, Founder & Designer of Bach HQ™
You just got engaged and now you feel this immense pull towards all things white for your bridal wardrobe, but not so fast. If this past New York Bridal Fashion Week of 2024 taught us anything, it is that color is here and is all the rave. So many designers, celebrities and influencers are bringing pastels to the forefront, especially blues, when it comes to their themes and styles of choice.
When the “American Royal Wedding” (insert giggle here) of Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge took place in the South of France in Spring of 2023, she did not hesitate to ensure blue was a part of her style book. If you are like me, I was glued to social media to witness the looks of each day, that did not disappoint. One of the favorites was her “Something Bleue” statement outfit during her pre-wedding festivities that blew (no pun intended) us all away. She set the tone for many celebs and influencers to incorporate this timeless color into their own bridal journey.

This leads us to this year where blue is everywhere we turn, from bridal shower themes to bachelorette themed ensembles and even final tea parties! Shannon Ford’s “Something Blue, Something British” bridal shower was “the wedding shower I’ve always wanted”, noted Ford. The blue themed soiree thrown by her friends was adorned with blue ascents all around and while the bride-to-be was not in blue herself, her dashing Fiancé wore a tailored blue blazer, bringing out both his blue eyes and Shannon’s beautiful blue eyes as well, as they were photographed together to capture the memories. She showed us how to tastefully have a “Something Blue” Bridal Shower theme.

“Something Blue” has been a HOT trend when it comes to nightly themes for the Bachelorette revels. Justine Brooke is just one of the influencers who rallied her girls up to all wear blue on night two of her Bachelorette weekend in Cabo San Lucas. Each girl was dressed in all blue as Justine’s “Something Blues” and the content was epic.

Most recently influencer, Shylah May threw a “Something Blue” tea party, as her last bridal event before the wedding to gift her bridesmaids their dresses; how creative! This was a newer themed event to host we are seeing more and more of, and tying in the blue trend just made it that much chicer.
