Five Fun Guest Book Alternatives
Having a guest book at your wedding is a classic and timeless way to record and capture everyone you celebrated your big day with. In recent years, many couples have started incorporating unique and different alternatives to the standard wedding guest book. If you’re someone looking to hop on this fun wedding trend, here are some of our favorite guest book ideas we’ve come across this year:
1.Polaroid Photo Album
On a table, set up a Polaroid camera, film, pens, and a photo album. Put a sign asking guests to take a fun Polaroid photo, leave a note on the back, and place it in the album. By the night’s end, you’ll have a book filled with memories of your guests!
2. Postcard Guestbook
If you and your new spouse love to travel, a postcard guest book is a great way to incorporate your love for exploring. Some couples opt to have the postcards be photos from past travels together, while some make custom postcards of future places you wish to go one day. All postcards will be pre-stamped and filled in with your address. Ask guests to take one, fill it out, and then stick it in the mail when they get home. For weeks after your wedding, your mailbox will include little surprises and memories from your guests!
3. Typewriter
A classy and timeless way to capture guest experiences at your wedding is by setting out an old-fashioned typewriter. Leave guests instructions to type out a few sentences and sign their names. Guests will also be more inclined to remember to sign the guest book when it includes a unique experience for them, which this surely does!
4. Lego Guestbook
This fun idea took social media by storm earlier this wedding season when photographer Gillian Lee posted a video on TikTok from one of her couples showing a Lego-inspired guest book. Wedding guests sort through Lego figures and choose one that matches who they are. They then sign their Lego figure and place it on the guest book mat with the rest.
@gillianleephotos all the guests had the best time putting together their lego pieces. Truly such a great idea!!!! #weddingtiktok #weddingguestbook #weddingtok #weddingtips ♬ we fell in love in october – girl in red
5. Wine Bottles
Get five wine bottles with custom labels for future anniversaries. Ask guests to choose a bottle and sign their name. Each bottle will be saved and opened on a milestone anniversary in the future. Many couples choose years 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50. On those anniversaries, grab the associated bottle and have fun looking over which guests signed that year!
