Where to Stay:

Unless you’re locally based, it’s best to make your bachelorette party a full weekend getaway and stay in town. Luckily, there are lodging options for all different kinds of groups in Traverse City. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive experience, we recommend one of the local hotels like Delamar Traverse City or Hotel Indigo Traverse City. Both hotels have comfy rooms plus all the classic amenities. Delamar also offers onsite yoga, heated outdoor pools, and cabanas. Hotel Indigo features H&L Social, a rooftop restaurant with amazing views of Grand Traverse Bay.

If hotels aren’t your vibe, local rentals are a great option. Look for options that can fit your entire group. This Luxury TC Loft and this Beachside Chalet both fit four or five guests. For larger groups, try this Luxurious Firehouse Apartment that fits 8 or the East Bay Escape that fits 16. Wherever you decide to stay, Traverse City-based bachelorette party planning and decorating service, TC Decorating Co., can make sure your weekend home away from home is picture perfect.

Where to Eat:

In our opinion, food is one of the most important parts of any bachelorette party weekend. Make sure to check out as many of Traverse City’s amazing restaurants as possible while you’re in town. Trattoria Stella and Sorellina are both great Italian restaurants. Firefly is a great restaurant with tapas, sushi, and burgers. Red Ginger is another great sushi restaurant in the area. For something casual with local brews, check out North Peak Brewing

For something a little more eclectic, check out The Little Fleet, which offers a fixed collection of food trucks for a wide variety of food options to choose from. Jacobs Farm is about 5 miles west of town but has great food in addition to live music and events. If you don’t mind a further drive, we highly recommend Hop Lot Brewing in Suttons Bay.

Where to Drink:

After dinner, take the crew out for drinks at one of the local hotspots in Traverse City. We love 7 Monks Taproom for a wide selection of beers, ales, and ciders. They also have hand-crafted cocktails and liquor. Low Bar, located below 7 Monks, has a pre-prohibition atmosphere and offers Northern Michigan’s most extensive list of rare bourbon, scotch, tequila, gin, rum, and vodka. The Parlor is located in a historic train weigh station and was once occupied by a cherry warehouse in the 1800s. The bar offers old-fashioned craft cocktails and often has live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Traverse City also offers Cycle Pub, a pedal-powered pub tour perfect for bachelorette groups. They offer cycles for groups of 4-6 or larger groups of 7-14 and lead you through a tour of the best bars (and restaurants) of Traverse City.

Of course, you can’t forget about the most popular way to drink in Northern Michigan: tours of the local wineries! If you can’t choose between all the available wineries, check out the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail or the Old Mission Peninsula Wine Trail!

What to Do:

Looking for some activities beyond eating out and drinking? You’re in luck, because there are countless possibilities in Northern Michigan. Downtown Traverse City offers dozens of shops and local theaters to explore. We particularly love Cherry Repulic for all the cherry-themed treats! The Village at Grand Traverse Commons also has lots of fun shops. Other options around town include a mani/pedi experience at The Nail Bar

If your group loves to lounge, check out the many local beaches. Clinch Park is close to downtown and therefore easy for the whole gang to walk to, but West End Beach isn’t far and is usually busy and great for a party-like atmosphere.

If your group wants to be a little more active, then look up the Traverse City Area Recreation Trails (TART), which are 10.5 miles long and include paved and wooded sections. For the more adventurous, head further west and hike the sand dunes along the Lake Michigan shore. There are also kayak or paddleboard rentals for the Boardman River or West Grand Traverse Bay. We recommend The River Outfitters or Paddle TC.
