How to Host the Best “Camp” Bachelorette Party
Hopping on the trend train brings out the fun and can even help elevate an experience. That truth holds weight when it comes to bachelorette parties. As someone who just enjoyed a camp themed bachelorette party at a campsite in the mountains, I can say with confidence that it is an awesome way to low key celebrate. It’s unique, memorable, customized, and the limitless s’mores bar doesn’t hurt.
Here is a brief list of just a few of the wonderful and memorable campgrounds in Michigan that would provide an amazing setting for your camp bachelorette party.
- White River RV Park & Campground – Montague
- Holland State Park Macatawa Campground – Holland
- Elli’s Lazy Days Resort & Campground – Manistique
- Andy’s Wolf Traxx – Seney
- Camp Moonshadow – Honor
Let’s dive in to the best ways to host your girl’s bachelorette.
How to Host the Best “Camp” Bachelorette Party
Itinerary
While some of you might prefer a more freestyle approach to the celebration, those who want a more organized and intentional method of partying will gravitate to the Itinerary route. You can break it down by time frame, order of beverage consumption (for example — mountain mimosas at 6, smokey chaser at 6:30, champagne at 7, etc.), or you can break it down by activities.
A popular activity that’s been rising lately has been painting the bride. This is something we did on our bachelorette party as well and it was a blast, and created tons of new inside jokes between us friends, which is always a win in my book.
Etsy has multiple designers onsite who can customize printout itineraries for your party. Colors, fonts, themes, you name it, they can make it happen.

Freestyle
For all my free stylists out there, you will like this more loose approach to hosting. You can have a list of things you want to do, experience, drink/eat, but it’s a casual list. Its check boxes don’t have to all be ticked. Instead of starting with Mountain Mimosas (yes, I will include the recipe below), you can kick off the party with a dip in the nearest body of water, or if you’ve selected a location that doesn’t have a water feature, you can jump start the party by setting up games or even s’mores. Nothing wrong with a sugar rush!
Mountain Mimosa Recipe
- ⅓ Cup Mountain Dew
- ⅓ Cup Orange Juice
- ⅓ Cup Champagne
- 1 oz. Blue Curacao
To make the perfect green mimosa, start by adding one ounce of blue curacao to each glass. Then pour in equal parts orange juice, mountain dew, and champagne until the glass is almost full.
Once all the glasses are filled with the mixture, add a straw and give them a gentle stir so that everything is evenly mixed together. Voila! You now have delicious green mimosas ready to serve at your camp bachelorette party.
Games
Try one of these fun games to get the party started.
- 3-Legged Race (It’s a cheesy but hilarious classic!)
- Scavenger Hunt
- Wedding Registry Trivia
Etsy has some phenomenal game templates to choose from that range from edible game boards to Pin the S’more on the Ranger.

Designing the Setting
Depending on the personal style of your bride, the range from which you can choose to take design inspiration from is quite broad and exciting. You could decide to go with a full on country experience, or a Sex in the City theme with everyone copying the iconic outfits of Carrie Bradshaw and her squad of besties. The choice of scenery décor could correlate with what you and your party packs in your suitcases.
Want all pastels in the woods? Go for it, the pictures will look amazing, and everyone knows that pastels only act as happiness enhancers. The smiles and sparkling eyes of you and your friends will be beautifully displayed and captured with pastel colors popping in the pictures.
Lights or no lights?
Personally I think white lights are always a must have but if that’s a little too traditional and predictable, then you could find lights that change colors by remote control. With the remote method it opens you, as the hostess, up with the fun idea of creating a drinking game out of it. For example, lights turn to pink… drink. Or if lights aren’t exactly fitting the vibe you’re seeing, there are lantern and motif candles that can act as setting softeners, creating a more intimate, cozy, warm and inviting scene.
Depending on the time of year, pillows or blankets can be added to create cozy seating. Lake, beach or river front could inspire water related party favors. For fall and winter go with warmer tones, plaids and tighter knits. Spring and summer pairs well with pastels, muted tones, florals, light knit blankets and cardigans (if your group is into knitting/crocheting a fun way to celebrate together would be to create cardigans that match your bridesmaids dresses and wear them to the party).
Creative Cocktails
Have fun with one of these on-theme cocktails:
Fall Inspired Mimosa
- 1 bottle prosecco or champagne
- 1/2 gallon apple cider
- 2 to 3 Tbs honey
- 2 to 3 Tbs decorator sugar
- 2 Tbs brown sugar
To get the sugar to stick to the rim of your apple cider mimosas, use honey. What goes better with apples than honey? This rim is amazing! Dip your glass evenly in the honey and then do the same thing with your fancy sugar.
Combine brown sugar with decorator sugar. Put in a small teacup saucer. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey to a second saucer. Dip the champagne glasses in the honey so that the rim is evenly coated with honey. Dip the champagne glasses in sparkly sugar. Fill champagne glass halfway with cider. Top with champagne or prosecco.
Spiced Spiked Hot Cocoa
- 3 Tbs cocoa powder
- 2 cups milk
- 3 Tbs sugar
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- ¼ cup (1 ½ ounces) semisweet or dark chocolate chips*
- ¼ cup aged or dark rum, bourbon, or Baileys Irish Cream or 1.5 ounces (3 Tbs) Creme de Menthe or peppermint schnapps*
Place a saucepan over medium heat. Add the cocoa powder and ¼ cup of the milk and whisk until the cocoa powder is mostly integrated. Whisk in the remaining milk until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and heat over medium heat until the chocolate is melted, about 2 minutes. Do not boil.
Stir in the alcohol. Serve immediately, garnished with whipped cream or marshmallows.
*Check the schnapps bottle before you make this drink! If using 100 proof (50% ABV) schnapps, just add a drizzle to taste. You can also use Kahlua, but use 1.5 ounces and decrease the sugar to 2 tablespoons.
