10 Locations for a Winter Bachelorette Party in Michigan
There are so many great ways to have an amazing bachelorette party in Michigan during the winter months. Whether you’re looking for a cozy weekend or something adventurous, Michigan has something for everyone. Check out the list below for 10 different location ideas for your winter bachelorette party!
1. Detroit Night Out
Downtown Detroit is the perfect place for a classic bachelorette party — a night out on the town! Find a room centrally located to everything, like The Siren or Shinola Hotel. Or — for a group who likes to gamble — a hotel in a local casino might be the most fun. Check out Motor City Casino or MGM Grand Detroit. There are also plenty of cute rentals nearby too!
There are so many great restaurants, bars, and activities that it’s impossible to list them all. Check out a concert at The Fillmore or The Masonic Temple, watch a Red Wings or Pistons game, or go ice skating at The Rink at Campus Martius Park. You can grab a bite at one of the two original Coney Islands or a full meal at Pegasus Taverna in Greektown for something casual. If you’re looking for something a little fancier, make a reservation at one of Detroit’s award-winning restaurants, like Parc. To end the night, there are countless bars to visit for a cocktail and a good time. Check out Greektown or Corktown for plenty of options! One of our favorites is The Skip, which turns into Sippin’ Santa, a Christmas-themed pop-up after mid-November.
2. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa
Treat! Your! Self! You have been planning every detail of your wedding, and you’re probably exhausted. Take a weekend with your closest friends and family to reset and recharge before your big day. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is the perfect place to get away and relax. The resort offers group spa packages complete with a massage, facial, pedicure — or any custom combination of their treatments. The hotel offers beautiful rooms as well as multiple dining options but is also only 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City if your group wants to hit the town.
3. Grand Rapids Brewery Tour
There is a reason Grand Rapids has been named Beer City by USA Today for three years in a row. There are more than 80 craft breweries in the region and more than 40 within a 30-minute drive. That makes for a busy bachelorette weekend! If you want to stay in the most convenient location, we recommend one of the hotels or rentals downtown. The Amway Grand Plaza is one great option. Once you settle into your home base, it’s easy to kick off a brewery tour. Check out the local Beer City Ale Trail map to find out where all the walkable breweries are, like Atwater, B.O.B.’s, and Founder’s. If you want to explore farther, it’s as easy as calling for a ride! Don’t forget to fuel up too — check out San Chez for great tapas or Stella’s Lounge for a great burger and awesome vibe.
4. Boyne Mountain Resort
Make your bachelorette weekend an adventure! Boyne Mountain Resort offers 65 trails and 415 skiable acres, so you can shred down the slopes before grabbing dinner and drinks at the lodge. After, you can head to their resort spa or hot tub to help you work out any kinks earned on the mountain. If you’re unsure about your skills on the slopes, they also have snowshoeing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and tubing. The resort makes the perfect play-all-day, party-all-night weekend!
5. Breakout Escape Room in Ann Arbor
Kick off your bachelorette night with an escape room with your besties! Breakout Escape Rooms in Ann Arbor has six different escape room themes, ranging from spooky to kooky, and all full of puzzles and codes to solve. Plus, you’ll get a great group photo to commemorate the night! Breakout offers food and beverages to continue the fun after you’ve escaped the room — or you can simply head out to downtown Ann Arbor for dinner, drinks, and dancing!
6. Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park
Work off some adrenaline before the big day with a few runs down one of only four ice luge tracks in the country! The Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park has an 850-foot track with six curves and offers plenty of training and safety equipment for first-timers. You can easily reach speeds up to 30mph sliding down the natural ice track, and you can add an extra bit of excitement with nighttime luge runs! The park also offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating to extend your fun. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway, there are plenty of places to stay along Lake Michigan, and Muskegon and Grand Haven both offer great restaurants and bars.
7. Winter Wonderland in Marquette
It’s a farther drive, but the Upper Peninsula can’t be beat for views or cozy winter vibes. Grab a rental or hotel room near Marquette and you’ll feel like you have the town to yourself. Head to Iron Bay Restaurant & Drinkery or Ore Dock Brewing. If you want to explore a little further afield, check out the Brownstone Inn in Au Train, which makes for a great stop before or after a hike. For the adventurous group, you can hike out to frozen waterfalls and try your hand at climbing them! Don’t forget your gear and safety equipment. Lastly, check the weather before you go and maybe you’ll have a chance at seeing the Northern Lights!
8. Soaring Eagle Casino Resort & Spa
Plan an all-in-one weekend at Soaring Eagle Casino Resort & Spa! Not only can you spend some time winning big in the casino, but you can also catch a show, have a delicious meal, and visit their spa for some luxury treatment. Check out their packages to see if one works for your group and make sure to plan your trip’s dates around the show schedule!
9. Traverse City Wine Weekend
Northern Michigan has so many amazing hotels or cute cottages to rent — and the best part is the proximity to the local wineries! Get your crew north, and have the coziest cabin-in-the-woods getaway. Plan your visit so that Traverse City is a short drive away, and you’ll have access to great restaurants and bars — or grocery stores if you’d rather eat in and drink wine with the gals. In addition, the area is covered in beautiful trails for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Alternatively, make it easy on yourself and stay at one of the local winery’s inns, like Black Star Farms.
10. Southwest Michigan’s Makers Trail
If you’re looking for some great drinks, but don’t want to drive all the way north, check out St. Joseph in Southwest Michigan and the area’s famous Makers Trail. This map will take you to all of Southwest Michigan’s best spots for beer, wine, cider, and spirits. There are even tours to book, so you don’t have to do the planning. There are several picturesque hotels or inns in St. Joseph, and don’t forget to find a spot to admire the beautiful winter views of Lake Michigan.
